Make-A-Wish
For another amazing year of sponsorship with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Swofford Construction has been recognized for helping a little girl become a princess.

This year, we sponsored four-year-old Kennedy Grace and her family on a week-long trip to Disney World, where they stayed at the Give the Kids the World Village. Kennedy Grace has been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, a type of cancer that affects the white blood cells and sometimes prevents her body from fighting infections.

Kennedy Grace and her family were able to visit all of the Disney Parks, Universal Studios, Sea World, and even got to experience great activities like playing a life-sized game of Candy Land and walking through Sparkleberry Trail. The highlight of the trip, however, was Kennedy Grace meeting all of her favorite Disney princesses in person.

Last year, Swofford Construction was able to sponsor another Make-A-Wish child. Jamica, a 10-year-old girl that suffers from chronic myelogenous leukemia, wanted her own computer so she could find a fun escape from very aggressive chemotherapy. She got her wish: a computer with a flat-screen monitor, internet access, a color printer, a digital camera, plus a computer desk and chair in her favorite color, purple!
