Leadership
Swofford Construction, Inc., was founded in 1978 by its current President, E. Kenneth Swofford. Mr. Swofford graduated from Southern Polytechnic State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture. He has been in the construction field since 1978, working as a carpenter, assistant field superintendent, and then project manager. Because of his experience with all phases of commercial construction, he and the company take a “hands on” approach with every project. This approach has produced outstanding results for all our clients. Mr. Swofford's honesty and dedication to our clients and the construction industry has resulted in his election to serve in several positions with the Georgia Branch Associated General Contractors. Mr. Swofford is a supporter of various youth sports programs, the Boys and Girls Club, Make-A-Wish Foundation and Camp Glisson (a Methodist retreat).
Joe Tuggle, Swofford Construction's Executive Vice-President, graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction, and has been in the construction industry since 1982. Mr. Tuggle has experience building churches, schools, industrial, office and professional buildings. Before working with Swofford Construction, Mr. Tuggle owned a construction company, and has experience working for various General Contractors. He is an active leader at the Peachtree City United Methodist Church, a past president of the Starrs Mill High School Touchdown Club, and was recently nominated to serve as a member on the Committee for Church Development, the North Georgia Conference, United Methodist Church, and District Leadership program. Recently Mr. Tuggle and members of the Peachtree City United Methodist Church took a three week mission trip to Liberia, Africa to help construct a school building for the Bishop Judith Craig Children’s Village.
